About the Artist

PMEACHER-028078 bwPamela Meacher, B.A.C – A.S.B.A

A master painter and author, Pamela is an irrepressible dedicated and passionate artist who was exposed to the profound mysteries and beauty of the natural world as a child in England. This helped her form a deep appreciation for flowers and faeries. Pamela’s botanical watercolour paintings often include birds, butterflies and woodland sprites, which harkens back to the Victorian Arts and Crafts movement thus evoking a sense of innocence and calm.

Studied ceramic sculpture in Montreal and Interior Design at McGill University. Oil painting classes at Carlton University in Ottawa. Life studies, grapho-analysis at Seneca College in Toronto, and Cultural Anthropology. Pamela’s skills as a watercolour artist grew through workshops given by Jack Reid of Toronto and Carl Brenders of Belgium.

Pamela has worn many coats.  Presently she is a member in good standing with The Botanical Artists of Canada, The American Society of Botanical Artists and The Pine Ridge Arts Association. She has served as Vice President of The Scugog Council for the Arts and  Vice-Chair of the Public Arts Acquisitions Committee for Scugog.   She served as Chair of a Multicultural Organization for five years.  As one of the first members of the Richmond Hill Group of Artists served as Chair. Later she got hooked on Native flora and became one of the founding directors of the Canadian Wildflower Society and served on the board for ten years. She also created the original logo.

Pamela has now added author, illustrator and publisher to her accomplishments.
